Fourteen Women

What's better than getting to watch a movie for homework?! Nothing, except maybe not having any homework at all! Well, the other day, I saw "Fourteen Women," a documentary that focuses on the female senators at the 109th United States Congress. As cheesy as it sounds, the film made me nostalgic over my time on the hill and appreciative of these amazing women and hard work they did.

For many of those female senators, their job didn't end when they left the office. At home, they not only brought their senatorial work with them, but also took care of their kids and families. While the dynamic life of a senator seems taxing at times, I also notice several perks. Aside from the fashionable wardrobe and the power to enact change in our country, the job also includes lots and lots of travel! Some spent 10-12 hours alone on traveling from their hometown to D.C. and suggested that you should go into politics if you love traveling.

I think we can all agree that I, as a writer of this blog, and you, as a reader of this blog, are travel enthusiasts. So, as we get older and start thinking about what we want to do with our lives, we should consider following in the footsteps that these trailblazing female senators set forth and do a job we love that involves yet another one of our loves of travel.
